Northumberland County has completed a draft Multi-Year Accessibility Plan to help guide the next phase of the County’s accessibility planning from 2022-2025.
The plan outlines key actions to meet and exceed the County’s requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) as well as recent accomplishments and accessibility goals planned for key areas including:
· Customer Service
· Information and Communications
· Employment
· Design of Public Spaces
The draft plan was developed in consultation with the Northumberland County Accessibility Advisory Committee, County staff and residents of Northumberland, including feedback gathered during the public survey conducted in June 2021.
Residents are invited to review and provide feedback on the draft plan before submission to County Council in early 2022 by visiting Join In Northumberland—the County’s online public consultation portal or by contacting the County’s Accessibility Coordinator at 1-800-354-7050 ext. 2327.
The plan is now available for review and feedback until December 10, 2021. To review the plan and share your feedback, visit JoinIn.Northumberland.ca.
