Mark your calendars: Saturday, June 15. That’s the day that the Warkworth Arena, both inside and out will be abuzz with auctioneers and buyers. The auction preview starts at 6:30 pm with the auction beginning at 7 pm sharp. Prior to the auction there will be a sale of clothes and linens at the Red Barn as well as toys, games and books for sale at the Cow Palace with their doors opening at 4:30.
The entire community, including you – can become involved in the fun and excitement. How? Well, it begins with you sorting items you could donate, having them ready for pick-up by volunteers on the evening of Thursday, June 13. You may also bring gently used items directly to the arena on Friday. These include such things as furniture, kitchenware, sports equipment, garden items, Christmas decorations and anything someone else might wish to buy. And, of course, as a Donnybrook shopper on Saturday, you’ll probably find treasures to take home too. All purchases are cash only.
The Donnybrook is a fundraiser organized by the Warkworth Community Service Club and all the money raised goes directly back to the community in support of numerous local organizations and youth activities. Many volunteer hands are required to make it a success. If you are able to offer a few hours of your time in contributing to the success of the Donnybrook – and maybe even become WCSC member – please contact Rene van Oosten, membership director, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Look for Donnybrook flyers in your mailbox towards the end of May. Check out our Facebook page for more information about Club activities as well as the community calendar at www.warkworth.csc.ca under the events tab.
We’ll see you at the Donnybrook!
