THFHT has converted clinics in Campbellford, Warkworth, Colborne, Hastings & Havelock to an essential service model because of the COVID-19 pandemic and State of Emergency declared by the province of Ontario.
We continue to work to best serve our patients and community during the COVID19 outbreak. The following changes are effective immediately:
Havelock Clinic: closed until further notice, all appointments converted (see below)
Campbellford, Warkworth, Colborne & Hastings Clinics:
- Appointments already booked with a Nurse Practitioner or Physician may be converted to telephone/virtual (e.g. Skype) OR may be rescheduled if they are non-essential. Booking staff will contact patients.
- Appointments already booked for blood work or EKG may be rescheduled or deferred to a later date if non-essential. Booking staff will contact patients.
- Calls for non-COVID19 complaints will be phone triaged by booking & nursing staff (see below).
- Calls for suspected COVID19 will be phone triaged by booking & nursing staff (see below).
- All programs are suspended including Pap, Smoking Cessation, Nutrition, Mental Health Groups.
- Request prescription renewals from your pharmacist. Do not call the clinics. Ask your pharmacist to fax a renewal request to your clinic. THFHT will not charge patients for renewal requests.
- Entrance Screeners are at all clinics & must see all patients before entrance is granted.
- Campbellford doors are unlocked (with a screener) Mon to Thurs 10:00 to 1:00 & 2:00 to 3:30.
- Warkworth doors are locked (with a screener) during all business hours.
- Colborne doors are locked (with a screener) during all business hours.
- Hastings doors are locked (with a screener) during all business hours.
- THFHT staff & clinicians continue to work over the phone Monday to Thursday 8:30 to 4:30 and Friday 8:30 to 12:30. Clinicians & management are also working over the phone after hours.
DO NOT COME TO A THFHT CLINIC WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT.
You will be turned away at the entrance screening point & asked to return home & call reception.
1. THFHT patients with symptoms of respiratory illness?
Patients with cough, sore throat, fever, flu-like symptoms or any symptoms of respiratory illness:
- call your clinic during business hours and report your symptoms.
- A THFHT Outbreak Nurse will call & perform a phone assessment & provide direction.
- Those who meet the criteria for COVID19 screening will be asked to contact the HKPR Public Health Department (1-866-888-4577 ext 5020) to arrange COVID19 testing at the closest screening centre.
- Those who do not meet the criteria for COVID19 screening will be further assessed & advised by the Outbreak Nurse. S/he will advise if you need to be seen or contacted by a physician or nurse practitioner for assessment and treatment of a non-COVID19 illness.
- If you develop symptoms after business hours and feel you cannot wait until the clinic is open, you can call Telehealth Ontario (1-866-797-0000).
2. THFHT patients with symptoms of acute illness (NOT respiratory & NOT life-threatening)?
Patients with acute illness e.g. earache, rash, urinary tract infection, skin lesions, breast lump:
- call your clinic during business hours and report your symptoms.
- Booking & nursing staff will triage your call and assign you to a phone consultation with a nurse, nurse practitioner or physician OR advise if you are to be seen.
- If you develop symptoms after business hours and feel you cannot wait until the clinic is open, you can call Telehealth Ontario (1-866-797-0000).
3. THFHT patients with symptoms of acute illness (NOT respiratory, MAY BE life-threatening)?
Patients with acute illness that may be life-threatening e.g. chest pain, bleeding, new abdominal pain?
- Seek emergency care immediately. Don’t wait at home. Attend the closest emergency room or call an ambulance if appropriate.
